I have been trying for 2 weeks to get a wii with no luck. But I signed up for this service that sends you a text when they are in stock at places like best buy online etc...scored a wii earlier today.
So if you are trying with no luck, give it a try. Hope this helps.

nah man, Wii is the shit -- that is once its MODDED. i can't wait play every game ever from NES to Gamecube on my Wii thanks to this brilliant service.

Wii is hard to find again? I got mine a few months ago easily, it was actually kind of an impulse buy. I was kind of considering selling it too, I wonder if I could make money off of it. Hmmm

yea marace, I think 2-4 months ago they were alot easier to find, but stating about 2-3weeks ago, they are gone the second they hit the shelves...

hardly a selling point. you know what else you can play NES and Gamecube games on? NES's and Gamecubes. or you can download an emulator and ROMs for free instead of sinking money into Wii points.
however, when the Star Wars light saber game comes out i'll be getting a Wii just to play that.

i was with my parents over thanksgiving in my shitty home town of hazleton, PA and there were Wiis everywhere on black friday (yeah we went shopping a litle). wal mart, best buy, all over the place. go there?

Wow, a year later and they are still tough to get?
I got it on launch day because I love the Zelda games, still thinking the system will probably be killed by the more powerful ones. It ended up FAR surpassing my (and everyone's) expectations.
Last year, after camping out for a guaranteed pre-sale ticket (and having my mom trading it in bc I was at 11/19/06 ;) I was fervently made fun of by all sorts of people: from game junkies, computer programmers, kids, close friends etc...most of them just saw the graphics and judged before actually *trying* the thing.
Once they played the Wii (long enough to "get" it) every single one of them agreed that it's damn cool.
Today, with every "cool" kid owning a 360, nothing to speak of for the ps3, an amazing Mario game new for the Wii, and a price more parents are willing to pay, I knew the demand would be there...I am just surprised they still cannot keep up with production a year later.

i got mine relatively easy last year. they come and go...when everyone's out you just have to be content and wait. it will drive you insane trying to find one otherwise, trust me.

I agree that it could drive you insane, but programs like the link that started this thread are neat. (If it works the way I assume.)
A few years ago I bought a PS2 the holiday season it first came out. This was VERY difficult, so I got this program that consistently refreshed every known page for the PS2. (ToysRus, Amazon, etc...) When it found a change it alerted me via email and a noise on the computer itself. I just kept it running for days, constantly hammering dozens of sites for me.
I remember this vividly: I was in my condo taking a dump when the damn thing went off! Pants still down I ran to the computer...Sure enough, I was staring at a "www.toys.com" webpage with an option to "add to cart" for a PS2! ...Obviously I bought it immediately. It sold out seconds after I ordered it. So I went back to wipe my ass...a much happier and luckier guy than before I started my dump.
