In today's Wall Street Journal, the Personal Journal section of the paper contains a brief review of "66 Steps," Mike Gordon's latest effort with Leo Kottke.

The review reads as follows:

One man's fans include guitar playing yuppies; the other's wear tie-die shirts and avoid washing their hair.

"Sixty Six Steps" is the second odd coupling between Leo Kottke, a widely renowned 12-string guitar virtuoso, and Mike Gordon, the former bassist for the neo-hippie jam band Phish. Their first effort, 2002's "Clone," received glowing reviews.

This time around, the men journeyed to the Bahamas to make a Calypso-influenced record, which showcases the pair's offbeat sense of humor. One track is a cover of Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion" sung in a monotone and performed on a mandolin-like instrument from Turkey.
