We are in an online film festival. If we get votes, they will screen it at a theater.
Step 1: Go to http://independentfeatures.com/IFWeb/. Step 2: Browse movies (at the top) > 20,000 Miles on a Horse > play movie. Step 3: Vote for the movie. Please give it 5 stars/reels.
I think the movie needs to play all the way through before you can vote for it. If you don't have time, just let it play in the background (in another tab/window) and vote for it when it's done.
It's an interesting movie, so watch it if you have time.
It's about an American and a Russian that rode on horseback from Argentina to Alaska. It took them five years and lead them through fourteen countries. The best part is, they shot over 250 hours of video of their trip. There are some pretty amazing moments in there.
Thank you for your support.
Enjoy the film!

"Step 3: Vote for the movie. Please give it 5 stars/reels."
i'll watch it, but Im only voting for it if I think it deserves it. I'm sure all of the contestants put lots of work into their films and it would be a shame if someone won because they drummed up the most meaningless online votes. No offense, thats just how I feel. If I think the film is good, you'll have my vote.

I hope he realizes it's not a short film. It's a feature length documentary.

It's a documentary about an American and a Russian that rode on horseback from Argentina to Alaska. It took them five years (88-93, I belive) and lead them through fourteen countries. The best part is, they shot over 250 hours of video of their trip. There are some pretty amazing moments in there.
We heard about the story, then asked them to send us a few tapes, to see if they were any good. Turns out they were, so we asked them to send them all to us. The tapes were a mess, they had been sitting in a garage for 10 years. The guys were going to edit it themselves, but never got around to it.
The tapes were horribly labeled, so you didn't know what was on a tape, what country it was from, or what year it was from. They shot on a variety of formats - SHVS, Hi-8, slides, photos, audio tapes, etc. Some of the tapes were fucked up and wouldn't play, so we had to get them fixed. Once all the tapes were fixed, we had to dub them all to Beta, so we could import them into the Avid and start editing.
We tracked down the guys and did some interviews and shot some b-roll, just to flesh out the story. We whittled it down 2 hours and now we're doing the festival circuit in hopes of getting distribution.
Let me know if you want to know anything else.

sounds good...very interesting
did they just make the trek to see if they could do it? or did they have some other motive?

they did it just to do it. no real agenda. just thought it sounded like fun.
fyi - I don't think you even need to watch the film, just click whatever reel you feel like. left=1, right=5.
