1) U-Melt's unique sound is a combination of flavors of rock,
jazz, funk, and blues with the dance beats and electronic
textures of contemporary house, trance, and ambient music
that truly must be experienced first hand to be understood.
Their organic progressive groove is spreading like wildfire
on the jam scene thanks to their relentless touring (playing
over 100 shows a year), which regularly brings them to venues
throughout the Northeast and beyond. Tourdates can be found
at www.umelt.com.
2) HoboErotic is a four-piece rock and roll band from Savannah,
Georgia.
We're wondering if anyone out there can spare a dime to help
us
distribute our new album entitled "Welcome to Savannah.
Welcome to
HoboErotic." If you'd like to bust a train, stop by and
see us at
http://hoboerotic.com.
3) Boogaloo Boys are a jazz organ trio from the Savannah,
Georgia area.
Their style is akin to the 'soul-jazz' or 'boogaloo' made
popular in
the sixties by such artists as Lou Donaldson, Richard "Groove"
Holmes,
Brother Jack McDuff, and Jimmy McGriff. A contemporary parallel
prominent on the 'jamband' scene would be the earlier music
of
Soulive. Boogaloo Boys features a trio of organ, guitar, and
drums.
Focusing on the under-appreciated style of boogaloo, the band
enjoys
unearthing relatively unknown covers from that period with
the
occasional original composition thrown in the mix. For booking
info,
contact Chuck Frost at cfrost@gmail.com.
4) Wounded Buffalo Theory is a Brooklyn based band speciailizing
in deep space
electro funk deth jazz latin pop metal techno Apocolypse rock,
and some
other stuff on the side. We've been playing for three years,
and we believe
in experimentation and playing the hell out of our instruments.
You can
find more information and download MANY more tracks for free
at
www.woundedbuffalotheory.net. We've just finished work on
our first
official EP, so please stay tuned to find out when and where
this will be
availible.
5) Inspired by rock's most legendary artists, brothers Jody
and Sean Ryan have created Uncle Billy's Smokehouse, an outfit
dedicated to the continuation of the classic rock sound. Combining
elements of blues, funk and soul with thought-provoking songwriting
and experimental improvisation, Uncle Billy's Smokehouse has
been lighting up joints all over New England and beyond and
is quickly gaining the reputation of one of the jam scene's
hottest party bands. Visit http://www.unclebillyssmokehouse.net/
and be a part of Billy's family.
6) Amfibian was named after our keyboard player's rather
interesting body
morphology below the beltline. Our sound can be best described
as a
blending of different instruments with occasional vocal accompaniment.
The
tracks on our album, "From the Ether", are arranged
in increasing order.
The one we selected is called "Mesmer". We all hold
valid drivers
licenses and/or permits. Our relentless touring schedule (seventeen
shows
per year) virtually assures our complete obscurity.
7) The Guestroom Project was named for a one-man musical
venture conducted in the guest room of an apartment on Lafayette
Avenue in Buffalo, New York. To hear music from the album,
and to sign up for a free CD, visit www.guestroomproject.com
8) Hirojima's heartfelt comic-rock sound was created on a
Monday night in a Charlestown, MA rehearsal space, and recorded
in an Allston
basement. We present ourselves as a side project to Boston's
beloved
trance rockers "ATP". Hirojima's unique sound derives
itself from the
band members' (Rich Brewer, Jamie Anderson and Matt Tahaney)
love of common folk in pursuit of dreams. As this is the only
song that
"Hirojima" has ever produced, we look forward to
this sudden notoriety
and exposure to rekindle our creative juices. Please visit
http://www.thepincushions.com/atp/ for all of your ATP info.
9) Sydian was a band out of Boone, NC from 2001-2003. The
band's future was tragically cut short following the death
of lead guitar player Heath Gibson. The track "Westward
By Manner" is actually the first of four movements of
the song. The entire four movements of the song were never
fully recorded but was performed live numerous times prior
to the tragic incident that came to be with Sydian.
10) The Nanjemoy Creek Boys are an all-original four piece
band from La Plata, MD, formed in 1997. The NCB sound is a
product of each member's technical proficiency and influences,
that collaboratively creates a unique style of synergetic
jamming. A typical NCB set is characterized by the segue of
its original, written out material into an all-out trail blazing
jam that navigates through many flavors of well-learned styles
which include rock, jazz, funk, jam, blues, polka, reggae,
ambient and electronica. While it's safe to say that NCB could
hold their own as a band strictly performing any one of these
genres, their combination of these elements provides for a
unique, organic sound that defies classification.

11) Fresh, new, different, yet comfortable original music
is what ElectroDog is all about. Its a feeling youve
had before, but one thats not quite like anything else.
Its rock that wont make you grit your teeth, folk
that wont bore you, funk thatll make you dance.
Its acoustic guitar based but electric guitar driven
with a drum beat that suggests a pace rather than demanding
a rhythm.
Occasional forays into cover music are often not intentional,
but surprising fun journeys into great times. ElectroDog sometimes
weaves original arrangements from masters like Stevie Wonder,
Bob Marley, and Phish into their own sound.
This band is about having fun with talented players and taking
the tunes of a great local singer/songwriter (Michael Babb)
to a higher place.
ElectroDog enjoys a sweet, well balanced sound but can rock
the house as well.

12) Brutus currently formulates in Austin, Texas. We began
this venture in
March 2004 & are already catching a glimpse of something
special. Our
influences range from the lesser known to the greats we all
know. Open
your ears & let your inside decide:

13) The Mumps are a heavy rock, mostly instrumental, style
of a band. On "Tired" we have used programmed drums
and bass guitar, along with sometimes stretched, electric
guitars and vocals. The Mumps = heavy + sound effects + noise.
Mike Bratt and Chris Gombas thank everyone involved in this
compilation CD. WE LOVE YOU ALL ! GOOD NIGHT !

14) Weve been fortunate to share the stage with many
talented musicians including members of The J.J. Cale Band,
Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, The Call, Big Head Todd and many
others.
Formed in 1994 out of numerous jams/drum circles/gatherings,
the band was very organic, ever growing and changing. We played
numerous live gigs though out the region and released two
studio cds a self titled release in 1998 and Lefty
Poe Takes The Wheel in 2001. After years of having one foot
in the real world (day jobs) and one in the rock and roll
world, we semi-officially retired in late 2001 after 7 years.
It didnt last all that long. During the summer of 2004
we were reunited by fate to play a benefit for a band that
had survived a helicopter crash. The brotherhood we formed
10 years ago was as strong as ever and after a weekend of
fun we decided to continue playing if only to entertain ourselves,
stay out late and drink massive amounts of beer.
