How to Play
The concept behind the Tour Tournament is very similar to that of
Fantasy Baseball or Fantasy Football. In these games, you pick players
to form a team and you score points when the players on your team perform
well in actual competition. In the Tour Tournament, you pick a team of
songs that will be your's throughout an entire tour. Each song must
be placed into one of 10 categories. Each category has a point
value associated with it. When a song on your team is played live in
concert and the location or type fits the category in which you
placed it, then you score the point value associated with that category.
You score 1 point for that pick if the song appears on your team but is
not in the correct categorey. The 10 categories are:

Deadline
The deadline for submitting your picks for any given tour is the start time
for the first show in that tour. You can return to the pick sheet and change
your picks anytime before the deadline. After the deadline for a given tour,
the pick sheet will immediately begin accepting picks for the next tour
(if announced).
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change my picks in the middle of a tour?
No.
If a song I picked is only teased or jammed, do I still
score points?
No.
When are scores and standings posted?
Scores and standings are posted after a confirmed setlist has been added
to the
Phantasy Tour database. This will usually happen within 12 hours of the
completion of a show, but there is no guarentee.
What if there is no second set or no encore?
Then no one scores points for their second set picks or encore picks
depending upon which was omitted.
What if a song starts in one portion of a show and is
finished later in the show?
You still only score once for that song.
What if a song starts in one set and is finished in another?
Any time a song makes multiple appearances in a show, each appearance counts.
However, this does not mean you can score multiple times in the same show for
the same song. It does mean that if a song is started in the second set and
finished in the encore, players that had that song as their second set wildcard
pick will score in addition to those players that had that song as their encore
pick. For purposes of the one-timer, regardless of how many times a song
appeared in the setlist of a show, it is still a one-timer as long as it
doesn't
appear in any other setlist during the tour.
What if a song starts in one show and is finished in another?
Because of the way Tour Tournament scoring is programmed, it can not
identify instances where a song that was incomplete in one show was
subsequently finished in another show. In these cases, each instance will
count as an appearance of that song and will be scored independently of one
another. For the purposes of the one-timer, this means that the song has
now been played at two separate shows and is no longer a one-timer for the tour.
What if a song that is started is never completed?
When this happens, whether or not the song will be scored will be decided
on a case by case basis. As a general rule of thumb, if the instance of that
song is only footnoted in the setlist, then it will not score points. However,
if the song itself appears in the setlist with a footnote stating that it was
an incomplete version, then it will score points.
What if a show is added to a tour after the tour starts?
When this happens, whether or not the show will be scored in the Tour
Tournament will be decided on a case by case basis. Factors that will be
considered include whether or not the show was announced and whether or not
it was open to the public. Impromtu performances on off nights are unlikely
to be counted as are promotional appearances and recording sessions for promotional appearances, such as those
for television and radio. When in doubt, assume that the tour dates as they were
published on the Phantasy Tour website when Tour Tournament registration
closed are the only dates that will be scored.
Are promotional appearances counted in the Tour Tournament?
Promotional appearances and recording sessions for promotional appearances,
such as those for television and radio, and generally not counted in the Tour
Tournament. You can be almost entirely sure that it won't be counted if
the appearance was unannounced. The reason for this rule is that promotional
appearances will often stray from the current song rotation to highlight
certain songs for a particular marketing purpose (i.e. songs from a recent
release, etc.). It is not rare for a band to perform a song at a promotional
appearance and then perform it again that night at their scheduled show.
These types of irregularities should not affect the Tour Tourament.
